Karachi, 28 October 2026: Mr. Munawar Ali Mithani, Secretary, Social Welfare Department, Government of Sindh, along with the Project Management and Implementation Unit (PMIU) for Drug Control & Rehabilitation team and representatives of rehabilitation organizations registered with the Department, visited the Benazir Shaheed ANF Model Addiction Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre (MATRC), Malir, funded by the Social Welfare Department.

The visit aimed to explore opportunities for collaboration, strengthen coordination among rehabilitation service providers, and discuss potential joint initiatives to improve drug treatment, rehabilitation, and reintegration services across Sindh.

The visit also provided an opportunity for participants to discuss ways to enhance cooperation among relevant organizations and strengthen rehabilitation services for individuals affected by substance use.

As part of the visit, a plantation activity was also carried out, reflecting a shared commitment to environmental awareness and a greener, healthier community.
