About Us Social Welfare Department

The Social Welfare Department (SWD), Government of Sindh, is mandated to promote the well-being, dignity and social inclusion of vulnerable and underserved populations across the province. Its work focuses on supporting children, senior citizens, transgender persons and individuals affected by drug dependency.

The Department also regulates and coordinates with non-governmental organisations (NGOs), manages statutory councils and boards, and advances community-based development through institutional mechanisms, interdepartmental coordination and strategic partnerships.
